Northern Ireland, BT79 7BA.
Dear Dr McCavert, Just
after seeing you on Friday January 25th 2008, I happened by accident to come
across the attached "
do you know somebody" pamphlet produced by "
The Northern Ireland
Centre for Trauma & Transformation" (at the Reception Desk of the Health
Centre).
On looking through the section with the "tick boxes" I found
myself answering "yes" to almost all of the symptoms listed.
I later
contacted The Centre and had a counselling session with
Geraldine Kerr on
Wednesday January 30th 2008, and at one point she suggested that I should try to
make sure I let you know that I have been to see her regarding the pamphlet's
contents.
The day after, I wrote to Geraldine Kerr (with some additional
information relating to my legal case). Please find enclosed a copy of the
e-mail I used, dated January 31st 2008, the
contents of which are self-explanatory I feel.
Allowing for the recently
discovered evidence that I might be suffering from prostate cancer, I am
naturally having thoughts about making a start at putting my affairs in order;
and, to do this I now very badly need to able to visit to my home in the
Republic of Ireland, which I have not been to for over three years: and
to do so without having to run the risk of being arrested and forced to appear
before a
kangaroo court (i.e. a sham legal proceeding, the outcome of
which is essentially made in advance, for the purpose of providing a conviction,
either by going through the motions of manipulated procedure or by allowing no
defence at all) - at a time when I am suffering from
Complex-Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder, and which I have so far had almost no formal professional
treatment for.
As I have mentioned to you and
Gerry Madden (Senior
Social Worker) on a number of occasions, I have great difficulty in seeing how I
ever can benefit from formal treatment for
C-PTSD: until
after the legal abuse I am being subjected to has stopped, or
there are clear signs that it is about to be stopped. At things stand, no such
signs exist - at least none that I know of.
In the meantime, I've also
had a letter from my half-sister Margie Dolan (dated January 27th 2008), in
which she has made it clear that she feels unable to keep on providing me with
financial support indefinitely. (On account of owning my own home in the
Republic of Ireland, I am not eligible apparently for any means-tested social
security benefits in Northern Ireland.)
As I have already mentioned to
you, the monthly Euros 1,000 sums I have been receiving from my brother (Gerald
Finnerty) and my half-sister now amount to a total of something in the region of
Euros 26,000: and this has happened because I have so far failed to get
"
asylum seeker" status in Northern Ireland, even though the
only reason I have been in Northern Ireland since
December
2004 is to avoid the very direct consequences of unlawful legal and mental
abuse (which could include imprisonment) , at the hands of public servants in
the Republic of Ireland.
Partly as a result of my half-sister' s
decision to "draw the line" (which is not seen by me as at all unreasonable of
her allowing for the amount of money she has loaned me so far), I am thinking that
I may now have to sell my home in the Republic of Ireland - which is yet another
reason why I need easy access to the Republic of Ireland.
All things
considered, I have come to the conclusion that my case really requires
an
immediate investigation now regarding the way the caring professions,
and the legal profession, have been handling my affairs for the past several
years: which, leaving aside the much appreciated efforts made by both yourself
and Gerry Madden, strongly suggests that the very senior people involved with the
administration of the the caring and legal professions have no regard
whatsoever for human rights law abuses involving
Article 6 (Right to fair
trial) and
Article 13 (Right to an effective remedy) of
The European
Convention on Human Rights.
Two periods of hospitalisation in
Northern Ireland (both directly linked with the Complex-Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder I am suffering from), and numerous meetings with Gerry Madden have all
so far completely failed to produce the legal help I need (i.e. legal help which
fully recognises the factual existence of human rights law).
To date, I
have not even managed to find a lawyer who is willing to discuss my legal rights
under The European Convention of Human Rights with me, let alone use them on by
behalf to protect me from the psychological abuse I am being subjected
to.
Also, and as it is still the case that I have never received any
reply from
Chief Justice Murray (or from any of his senior lawyer
colleagues) to the registered letter reproduced at
http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com/ChiefJusticeMurray/28August2007/Letter.htm
, I am not sure if any of the senior lawyers in question are even aware of the
contents of the letter in question.
If it is possible for you to trigger
an investigation into my case, I would be very grateful if you could do so as soon
as you reasonably can please. Otherwise, perhaps you could advise me as to whom
I should approach myself (for the purpose of initiating such an investigation).
You may wish to note that I already attempted to launch an
investigation of sorts myself in 2005, which far from helping me, just
added to the general trauma I felt at the time (because the final,
overall investigation results appeared so extremely questionable and disappointing
to me). Further information on this particular aspect of my case can be
found at
http://www.constitutionofireland.com/ConvenorWH-SSB-7Feb2005.htm
.
For your convenience, and in the hope it might make it more easy for
you to communicate the growing difficulties of my situation to others who may be
able and willing to help, I will place a copy of the text of this letter at the following
Internet location later today:

.
Kind regards,
William
Finnerty. (
